Other Feast Days and Prayers |

Today's Feastday,
Today is Monday in the Tenth Week of Ordinary Time. Today we begin reading
Paul's vigorous Second Letter to his Corinthian converts. Writing from
Macedonia, probably in 57 A.D., Paul begins with a typical salutation and
typical expression of praise to God.
It is a delight to begin the second reading with the Sermon on the Mount
- Chapters 5, 6 and 7 of the First Gospel. Here is the start of the Sermon:
the famous Beatitudes. Jesus teaches that the blessed ones are those whom
worldly standards rank low: the poor, the despised, the pure, etc.
Today's Prayer
God of wisdom and love,
source of all good,
send your Spirit to teach us your truth
and guide our actions
in your way of peace.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Spiritual Communion Prayer
Please join us with this prayer in asking the Lord Jesus to be with you.
Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I long for you in my soul.
Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I know You have already come.
I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You;
never permit me to be separated from You.
