Today's Feastday,
Today is Wednesday in the Tenth Week of Ordinary Time. Paul, accused of
insincerity, is telling the Corinthians that he acted as a true apostle of
God's New Covenant. Recalling that on Mount Sinai Moses' face was resplendent,
Paul says the minister of the New Testament has an ever greater glory.
The Sermon on the Mount is the keynote of the New Testament, the
constitution of the Kingdom of God. Today in the second reading Jesus says
that God's laws are to be observed totally and perfectly. For greatness, one
fulfills and then teaches God's commands.
Today's Prayer
God of wisdom and love,
source of all good,
send your Spirit to teach us your truth
and guide our actions
in your way of peace.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Spiritual Communion Prayer
Please join us with this prayer in asking the Lord Jesus to be with you.
Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I long for you in my soul.
Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I know You have already come.
I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You;
never permit me to be separated from You.
