Today's Feastday,
Today is Saturday in the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time. The final reading
from Second Corinthians presents Paul still strongly defending his integrity.
He tells of special revelations beyond description, and of his "thorn in the
flesh" - a humbling human weakness or illness.
The Sermon on the Mount gives us teachings central to faith and Christian
living. In beautiful words the Lord tells us not to worry about this passing
life, but to put God and personal holiness first in our scale of values.
Today's Prayer
Almighty God,
our hope and our strength,
without you we falter.
Help us to follow Christ
and to live according to your will.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Spiritual Communion Prayer
Please join us with this prayer in asking the Lord Jesus to be with you.
Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I long for you in my soul.
Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I know You have already come.
I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You;
never permit me to be separated from You.
