Today's Feastday,
Today is Monday in the Twelfth Week of Ordinary Time. The 12th Chapter of
Genesis brings us into datable history. In about the 18th Century B.C. God
called a certain Abram and directed him from Haran (in North Mesopotania) to
the promised land of Canaan (or Palestine).
In the second reading we continue reading the fundamental Sermon on the
Mount (Chapters 5, 6, 7 of Matthew). Today's reading is of utmost importance.
The follower of Christ must not judge others negatively. The best of motives
should be attributed to others - not the worst of motives.
Today's Prayer
Father,
guide and protector of your people,
grant us an unfailing respect for your name,
and keep us always in your love.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Spiritual Communion Prayer
Please join us with this prayer in asking the Lord Jesus to be with you.
Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I long for you in my soul.
Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I know You have already come.
I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You;
never permit me to be separated from You.
