Other Feast Days and Prayers |

Today's Feastday,
Today is Saturday in the Twelfth Week of Ordinary Time. Today's first
reading is another promise that, even though Sarah seemed sterile, she would
bear the child of the promise. We not Abraham's lavish hospitality to the
three guests. Two are angels, one is the Lord God.
To follow today's Gospel, we recall that the centurion was the ranking
Roman official in a small Jewish town. The Roman officer demonstrates
integrity and trust. Jesus compares this to contemporary Jewish attitudes.
Today's Prayer
Father,
guide and protector of your people,
grant us an unfailing respect for your name,
and keep us always in your love.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Spiritual Communion Prayer
Please join us with this prayer in asking the Lord Jesus to be with you.
Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I long for you in my soul.
Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I know You have already come.
I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You;
never permit me to be separated from You.
