Basilica of the National Shrine of Saint Ann Father Richard Nalepa, C.P.
Father Richard Nalepa attended St. George Grade and High School in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. He was ordained a Passionist priest on the 29th of May, 1970. Father Nalepa
has served as Associate Editor of the SIGN Magazine. He received a Master Degree in
journalism from Marquette University in 1973. Father Richard has held the position of
Vice-Rector of the Passionist Monasteries of St. Ann's, Scranton, Pa. and St. Joseph's
Baltimore MD. and as co-director of seminarians at Worchester, Mass. He has also served
the Passionist Preaching Ministry giving Missions and Retreat throughout the Eastern
United States. At present, Fr. Richard is Associate Director of St. Ann's Media which
televises Sunday and Daily Mass from St. Ann's Basilica in Scranton, Pa. Last year Father
Richard celebrated his 25th Anniversary of Ordination. Fr. Richard has a brother who is
also a priest. Father Damien Nalepa is Pastor of St. Gregory the Great Parish in Northwest
Baltimore where he has been Pastor for 17 years. Frs. Richard and Damien have two cousins,
Father David Kriss and Fr. Aaron Kriss, both priests in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
