Bishop McCormack is the National Director for The Society of the Propagation of the Faith, a position he has held since 1980. From 1993 until 1996 he was a member of the Committee on Economic Concerns of the Holy See. Bishop McCormack is a member of the Admisistrative Board, USCC Justice and Peace, Social Development, and International Policy. A native of New York City, he was ordained Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of New York by Pope John Paul II in Saint Peter's Basilica, Rome, January 6, 1987.
Bishop McCormack has also served as Chairman of the Bishops' Committee on the Missions, National Conference of Catholic Bishops and he was elected to the Board of Catholic Relief Services, United States Catholic Conference.
